CVTA
Commercial Vehicle Tracking Application (CVTA)

CVTA is an advanced fleet management platform that combines modern mobile telematics with structured operational control.

The system enables:
Real-time GPS-based vehicle tracking
• Rule-driven dispatch and compliance enforcement
• Live operational reporting to centralized control systems
• Integration with iOS and Android mobile applications

For commercial vehicles where mobile applications are not practical (e.g., hotel shuttles or crew transport vehicles), CVTA integrates OBD-II IoT telematics devices to provide secure, continuous tracking and reporting.

In environments where GPS reliability is limited, such as structured parking or dense terminal areas, CVTA supports Low Energy Bluetooth (BLE) technology for accurate positioning.

Mobile Wi-Fi Localization System
Research Collaboration – University of Toronto (WIRLab)

In 2016, a collaboration between ReserTrac, Futurebound, and the University of Toronto’s WIRLab developed a Wi-Fi–based vehicle localization system for GPS-limited areas. Google’s Wi-Fi scanning restrictions introduced in 2017, from Android 8.0 onward made the system nonfunctional and ultimately blocked its commercialization.

ALPR
Automated License Plate Recognition

ReserTrac’s Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system uses network-based IP camera infrastructure combined with proprietary software to identify and log vehicle license plates with associated timestamp and location metadata.

The system supports:
Vehicle frequency monitoring

Rule-based alerting workflows

Advanced image processing adjusts for lighting conditions, orientation, and environmental variables to maximize optical character recognition accuracy.
